Select Rating Ordered this system because of the 4 channel DVR. Only needed 4 cameras but liked the idea of expandability. Spent an hour or so doing the programming, the included instructions were not real indepth but online instructions worked well. Was able to get everything hooked up and viewing cameras. Did have to call customer support for assistance with Android phone viewing, but
they were able to assist me right away ( on a Sunday) and had the Android phone app working within 10 minutes. Camera quality is good, night vision is fair. Would not be able to distinguish features if needed. Overall good system for the money. Would purchase again. (Posted on 6/17/12) -

Select Rating My single biggest frustration with the system is working with the DVR software. Based on what I have seen so far, you can only configure and manage the system from the DVR. The network accessible functionality only provides access for camera viewing. It would be nice to be able to configure and manage the DVR from a computer on the same network but it doesn't look like that is an option. Configuring and managing the DVR requires using a locally attached monitor and a mouse. This forces placement of the DVR in a location that is easily accessible which is somewhat contrary to an effective security system. In addition, there is no keyboard option so the mouse has to be used for entering keyboard strokes.
The quality of the camera pictures seems okay but I won't know for sure until I get the cameras installed in their actual locations. Which leads to another observation: camera installations where the cables have to go through a wall (i.e. on the outside of a house) require a BIG hole because of the two connectors on the end of the cable. In my case I ended up with a 3/4" hole in the wall. Overall I am satisfied with this system so far. I can't offer up a conclusive opinion right now because it's going to take some time to get the DVR installed in an appropriate location and get the cameras set up. (Posted on 4/18/12) -
